Geocachers of South Africa (GoSA), is a non-profit organisation that was created to promote Geocaching in South Africa.

Hosting the first Mega Event in South Africa and establishing a vehicle through which future Mega events can be hosted, is one of the ways in which GoSA aims to promote the game. The establishment of the voluntary association also enables the Organising Committee to open and manage the necessary bank account that will be used for Fund Raising purposes for the upcoming MEGA South Africa Event and to manage the expenses associated with the event in a responsible way.

At present, the organisation has a Constitution which has been drawn up by a qualified lawyer who is a geocacher as well. The current Organising Committee will run for the first year, thereafter a new Committee will be voted in at the next AGM.

This website is a mechanism to keep local geocachers informed and connected.  It will also be a central point for communication about the planning of South Africa's first ever Mega Event, as well as one of the most important tasks to do - indicate whether you plan to attend the Mega Event.  The Mega Event will take up much of the discussions and content for the time being.

GoSA will never forget the enormous contribution that the late Neil Madsen-Leibold (MadSons) made to getting GoSA off the ground, as well as the first Mega Event in South Africa. Neil's enthusiasm and drive got the ball rolling and his positive presence will be sorely missed.

All geocachers in South Africa are invited to get involved in making history through the hosting of the first Mega Event in our country. The Sub-committees listed below have been established to plan the detailed arrangements to make this momentous occasion a reality. Please contact the leader of each of these committees to contribute to the effort in the area of your interest. The hosting of the Mega Event is a team effort in true geocaching style.
